Mahuru Māori is Te Wānanga o Aotearoa’s annual challenge to kōrero (speak) Māori in Mahuru (September) and our koha (contribution) to te reo Māori.
It started in 2014 when our kaimahi (staff member) Paraone Gloyne challenged himself to kōrero Māori for the entire month of September.
Whether you’d like to speak for an hour, a day, a week or the entire month of Mahuru kei a koe te tikanga (it’s up to you).
We have a large Mahuru Māori community and whatever your level of te reo Māori proficiency from absolute beginner to advanced or fluent we invite you to take part by registering here.
